Gallery One gallery is a part of Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA). It provides a dynamic environment for visitors to experience the artwork collections in a creative way. The innovation behind the scenes well blends the art and technology that helps visitors to explore and connect with art in a greater depth.
Becoming a national leader in the use of emerging technologies has been a strategic plan for Gallery One since 1996. The gallery purchased collections of management database and digital scanners to digitalize the artworks, which helped them to manage artworks’ inventory and generate metadata. These digital assets help the gallery to create the online collection, which is a great way to extend visitors’ experience both inside and outside the gallery. Below is a list of the technology, Gallery One uses in the exhibition.
- Digital display (HDTV)
- iPad with different well-designed applications, engage visitors in creating personalized experience
- The Christie iKit multi-touch system, allows multiple users to interact with the wall.
- Linux servers, help process the video across the wall.
- RFID servers, manage the iPad station connectivity.
